Aboveground Vertical Storage Tanks
These are steel atmospheric tanks intended for aboveground storage of non-corrosive, stable, flammable, and combustible liquids that have a specific gravity not exceeding that of water. Maximum allowable working pressure is 0.5 psig as measured from top of tank. Vertical tanks may be of single or double wall construction. If the tank is a double wall configuration, then it has interstitial monitoring capabilities. These tanks may also be built with or without multiple compartments for multiple fuel storage. Tanks generally have flat bottoms and conical roofs.
Aboveground Horizontal Storage Tanks
These are steel atmospheric tanks intended for aboveground storage of non-corrosive, stable, flammable, and combustible liquids that have a specific gravity not exceeding that of water. Maximum allowable working pressure is 0.5 psig as measured from top of tank. Tanks can be furnished with stationary support saddles, anti roll supports or structural skids. Only new steel materials are used in tank constructions.
Integrated Overflow Compartment Tanks
"IOC™" Integrated Overflow Compartment: Modern's IOC tank was created to eliminate spills, environmental cleanup and monetary loss related to overfilling aboveground storage tanks. Modern's special overfill prevention design directs the excess product into the "Integrated Overfill Compartment". This only happens when the product level in the tank exceeds the 95% capacity rating. Each tank is sized with the appropriate normal and emergency vent openings as defined in the tank's standard of construction.

Structural Steel Quality Control Program includes codes such as AWS ( American Welding Society), ASTM (American Society for Testing Metals) and AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction). The Quality Control Program for tanks covers codes such as UL (Underwriters Laboratories), STI (Steel Tank Institute) and API (American Petroleum Institute).
Quality can be defined in several ways. Quality Assurance is the management activities that determine Quality policy, objectives and responsibilities and the research and development of Quality Control. Quality Control is the sum of the operational techniques and activities that are used to fulfill and verify the requirements of Quality Assurance. To assure compliance with quality objectives, we have developed the Modern Team Quality Management Program. Modern Team Quality Management is the involvement of all employees at all locations working together to provide the highest quality at the lowest cost.
